Logo Gear Swap

We are aware that some of our families may need different sizes for their logo gear. We would like to get you the right sizes so you and your children can wear your new hoodies and polos as soon as possible. If your logo gear needs to be exchanged for a different size please bring it to the school unwashed and unmarked on

Friday, December 2 from 8:00-12:00

During this time we will be coordinating a swap in an effort to get everyone properly sized logo gear.

Thank you for your patience as we work to make sure everyone gets what they need from this first order.

If you cannot bring us your exchange on or before Friday please contact us at boneillfoa@oasisacademyfallon.us so we can make arrangements to get your items and needed sizes.

We have postponed pictures until Spring

We have postponed pictures until Spring.  Due to several conflicts, not the least of which timing, we would not have pictures back before Christmas.  So Oasis Academy pictures will be done in the spring.   We will post all of the details including the specific day and date, costs, and schedules for taking the pictures on or before our next parent meeting.   That meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 6pm in the lunchroom.    Through no one's fault and in an effort to accommodate as many schedules as possible we think this would be the best solution.   Please know that  we are very happy to be working with Lissa Overlie and Susan Robertson to get quality pictures for your students.  Thank you for your understanding.  If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will do my best to answer.

FOA is not going to have a parent meeting the month of December, so the next meeting will be in January after we get back to school.

Pizza coupons are here!

No more sending in loose change and three $1.00 bills on Thursday.

In an effort to save time for our teachers who have been collecting the money each Thursday and the volunteers who have spent numerous hours counting and recounting... we are asking families to purchase coupon books for pizza. They are available at school - just stop by and see Mrs. Evans or send in a check (made out to FOA) with your child if you feel he/she can get the coupons home without losing them. The books are $15.00 for 5 coupons.

Then, on Thursday you can send in just one coupon, the kids will turn them in first thing in the morning to their teachers. It is important that we get these in at the start of school, to avoid running out of pizza as we call in our tally before 8:30 in the morning.

If you absolutely cannot get the coupons this month we will still be accepting cash through Dec. 15th, but I encourage everyone to switch over to the coupons as soon as possible. Thanks for your cooperation.

Attention: All Wanting to Participate in the Ski Program

Mt. Rose is NOT accepting signups for the Local Youth Programs. You CAN register your student either by going to the Mt. Rose website http://www.mtrose.com/lessons-rentals/youth-programs or by calling (775) 849-0704 ext.220

Space is limited, so register as early as possible to ensure a spot(s) and we will see you on the slopes!

Food Drive

WE HAVE ONE WEEK TO COLLECT FOR OUR SCHOOL FOOD DRIVE!!!

We are starting the competition NOW for the K-2 community service Thanksgiving food drive... here's how it is going to work:

Each class is going to keep their own cans and non-perishables and continue collecting them until Thursday, November 17th. That afternoon, we will count how many items each class has. Whichever class has the most items will win 'the BIGGEST GIVER' award and will have their picture taken and posted in our school with the honorary title.

Parents if you would like to involve your co-workers and neighbors please feel free to promote this to others in our community.

Veterans Day Program

The next deadline for count is December 7th.

Please turn in your box tops in as early as possible. They take a considerable amount of time to count.

Enrichment news

The dates for this enrichment Friday session are as follows:

Nov 4 and 18,
Dec. 2, 9, and 16.

There will be NO enrichment on Nov. 11th due to the veterans holiday and NO enrichment on Nov. 25th due to Thanksgiving. There will be NO enrichment on Dec. 23 or 30.

Our new session will start in January...details to come as the time gets closer. Watch for more details about the ski program at Mt. Rose...

Fast Food Scrip

Great news - Taco Bell is now participating in Nevada for the scrip program.

That means the list has increased to include:
Burger King
KFC
Subway
Jack in the Box
Dominos
Pizza Hut
Papa Murphy's
Wendys (Fernley)
Taco Bell

All are $10 cards except KFC is $5.

We currently stock Subway & Papa Murphy's in the Scrip Store at school but will stock others if there's demand for them.

Remember that every dollar counts and using these cards instead of other payment methods at lunch will greatly help the children at Oasis Academy!
